  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced apples, granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apples begin to soften.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  4. Add this slurry to the apple mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Separate the biscuit dough into individual biscuits.
  7. Flatten each biscuit with your hands or use a rolling pin to reach about 1/4-inch thickness.
  8. Place a tablespoon of apple filling in the center of each flattened biscuit.
  9. Fold the edges over the filling, pinching them together tightly to seal them into balls. Ensure there are no gaps.
  10. Dip each dough ball into melted butter.
  11. Roll it in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until fully coated.
  12. Place each ball seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  13. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  14. Allow the apple pie bombs to cool for a few minutes before serving.
