  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring the chicken breasts to room temperature and season them generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for 6-7 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 6-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds. Add heavy cream, stirring to combine, and let it simmer gently.
  5. Stir in chopped basil, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for an additional few minutes until thickened.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over it, allowing it to absorb the flavors for about 2-3 minutes before serving.
