  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 egg yolks, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar (for cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder (for cookie dough)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, 3 tbsp sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream the softened butter with light brown sugar and granulated white sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough portions, flatten them in your hand, place a teaspoon of cheesecake filling in the center, fold dough around it, and shape into balls.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges set. Cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
