Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta)
  • 2 cups romaine lettuce, chopped

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) to enhance tenderness.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until fully coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the coated chicken for about 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  6. Transfer cooked chicken to paper towels to drain excess oil.
  7. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, minced garlic, and grated Parmesan cheese for the Caesar dressing.
  8. Toast bread slices until golden brown.
  9. Assemble the sandwich by spreading dressing on toasted bread, adding lettuce and crispy chicken on top before closing with another slice of bread.
